Happy New Year! …and some more about us.
Dear friends,
Happy New Year! As for Christmas - I think we ought to always celebrate Jesus’ coming daily, so - be thankful and rejoice today because He came to save us!
Here’s what’s new since the last update (which I don’t even remember when it was…):
Petra and I managed to get some break. Not much, but we were still able to stay home and do just little things we enjoy. I’ve been taking quite a few photos (but more on that later), while Petra has been resting, cooking, helping out her parents. She was very sick at Christmas (for 2 days), but now she’s all fine. And he school & work don’t start till two days from now. She needed that rest.
We didn’t go anywhere for Christmas/New Year’s. The plan was initially to escape somewhere quiet (or not so quiet) for a weekend or so, but we figured it will still be quite expensive, then she got sick, the bank transfers were delayed around the holidays… So we spent both holidays at home with her parents - nice and easy (see some photos below). Perhaps the escape experience will occur some other time.
I finally got my long-dreamed Digital SLR camera. Yay!
I got a second hand Canon EOS 20D (8Mpix) and then bought a really nice Sigma lens for it. The old and faithful Fuji was sold for a reasonable price so that made things even easier. I feel much better with the new camera (and esp. the lens!) as it delivers higher quality images and that allows me to experiment more with different things. I’m very excited about that upgrade and have already produced another load of stock images to be sold. In the mean time I also kept myself busy taking some snappy shots at home. Below you can see photos from our celebrations at home, some random ones, as well as photos from the Christmas celebration which we had in our church in Rotterdam (click on the thumbs for the big image).
As you can guess - more photo updates will come soon. If you’re interested - you can also check out my Dreamstime Stock Photos portfolio - there you can see Petra modeling for various topics. She’s getting better and better at it, and her pictures sell very well.
Prayer for Bulgaria turned 1 year! Yes, it was in the last week of 2006 that the prayer web-site was launched. My praise and thanksgiving to God is that He has been able to use this insignificant web-site to encourage a large number of people. I’ve gotten many e-mails from Bulgarian visitors who are very excited and blessed by the site. I could have never imagined that it will develop and grow so well. Now I just can’t wait to see what God will bring along in 2008! I also want to take this opportunity and thank you all for your support concerning Prayer for Bulgaria. You’ve all helped one way or another, and I want you to know that it means a lot to me.
Well, I guess that summarizes it all. We are thankful for God’s amazing provision and help in 2007, and we hope and pray that in 2008 He will use us and help us to pass on our blessings to others.
Please, keep in touch even when we forget to! We are always happy to hear from you!
Much love,
Petar and Petra
