Jay, thanks for the comment! I do agree with what you say - totally. We are here because of God's will and that we ought to fulfill. I didn't intend to say that we shouldn't enjoy life while here either. I was speaking more about the anticipation and readiness to be with Jesus but not in this world as we know it. In other words, if God clearly says to me "Your days here are over. I want you with me up here." Then what would my response be - hesitation or joy? And I'm struggling with the fact that I'd be hesitant because I've grown to like it here so much. Do you see what I mean?

Hey Pesho,

Deep thoughts and great writing. It is good to wrestle over these things. My opinion is that it is not wrong or bad to enjoy life on earth and want to stay here as long as possible. I certainly do want to live as long as possible. I think it is a God-given desire to want to live long. He certainly would not be pleased if we all wanted to die now. He has made us partners in the Gopel, ambassadors in Christ, and commissioned us to go into all the world. I want to be a part of that. Also, we do not have to die to be with Christ, we have a real, intimate relationship with him now. Paul said, "For to me to live is Christ, but to die is gain." (Phil. 1:21). I don't think I would have raised my hand either and I don't think that is a bad thing. Blessings.
