Darfur Genocide in a Nutshell. Uncensored.

Thursday, February 19th, 2009 at 4:35 am (GMT+2) by Petar

silencedWhat is Darfur and where is it to be found? Why care about it and will anything I do or don’t change it? Why does it go together with genocide?

These and many more questions are often left unanswered because people are either ignorant on the topic or choose to ignore it. Apparently, however, those who have decided to engage their minds in learning and thinking about it much has changed and this rather permanently.

If you haven’t caught it – I’ve recently become impacted by the reality of genocide in the world and awaken to where and how it’s present today. I’ve added a new category Genocide Monitor to the blog and have undertaken the task of making it known to you – my friends and readers. So you’ll be hearing more and more about it from me, along with all the rest that I normally post on here.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a way of isolating the e-mail notifications for the Genocide Monitor posts from all the rest. So, if you decide to unsubscribe, you’ll have to unsubscribe from all notifications through the link at the bottom of the e-mails you receive or from this page: Stay tuned. I’ll be honest and say that I’ll be a bit disappointed because I believe this to be important and that’s why I share it. Yet I won’t bother you about your decision.

Shooting Dogs.

UPDATE: I’ve inserted the trailer for Shooting Dogs in the post, so that you can have at least an idea of what I’m talking about.

blankIt barely happens that I cannot hold my tears back. It’s even more rare that I can’t hold my tears back during a movie. Yet, I used to believe in crying (up till about 4 years ago). I believed it was the purest thing a man or a woman, a boy or a girl can do. Actually, I also used to believe that by being weak one would always meet his or her true self.

Somehow, though, I stiffened up while moving on with life… I stopped crying and trained to be tough. Thankfully, God has a way of breaking tough walls and bringing tears back, as sick as this might sound in today’s world of insurances, safety, abundance and comfort. I’m thankfull, really.

In 1996 The Monkees came out with a song called I’m a Believer. You’ve surely heard the “recent” cover by Smash Mouth… That particular line from the chorus “then I saw her face, now I’m a believer” would pretty much describe my experience before the telly tonight, but in a slightly modified version – Then I saw them die, now I’m a believer… Different melody though.

Scream Bloody Murder

Friday, December 5th, 2008 at 9:39 pm (GMT+2) by Petar

As I’m writing this I’m watching a CNN special on genocide and the world’s indifference to it. It’s not just mind blowing and heart-breaking, it’s not outrageous or whatever else… It’s indescribable before all.

To read more about the show and see overviews, follow this link: http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2008/scream.bloody.murder/

It is beyond final for me that no government or union can stop this from happening again. God alone is our help. God alone is our hope. I’m asking myself the tough question of why did He not intervene in all these cases… But I know that it’s not meant for me to understand fully why God allows what He does.

I’m very interested in your opinions and thoughts… And, please, do watch the broadcast if you have access to CNN. It’s worth to be awaken.
